No full concrete slab is required on any of our models. The polycarbonate range anchors its arches directly into the ground, with the steel base plate included. The glass and wood ranges sit on a flat, level and stable surface with their anchoring points secured into the ground, concrete footings or pavers. Footings are recommended on exposed or very windy sites.
No specialist skills and no professional installer are needed, but plan a real project rather than an afternoon. Two people and common household tools are enough. Count 1 to 2 days for a polycarbonate greenhouse, 2 to 3 days for The Retreat, The Cottage and The Residence, and 5 to 7 days for the larger Manor and Estate. In the wood range, 1 to 2 days for The Snug and 3 to 5 days for The Lodge and The Homestead. Every part is pre-cut and labeled, with an illustrated manual included.
Yes, and the rating depends on the range. Polycarbonate models are rated for 65 mph winds and 32 PSF of snow load, about 3 ft of snow. Glass models are rated for 115 mph winds and 48 PSF, about 4.5 ft of snow. Wood models are rated for 115 mph winds and 32 PSF, about 3 ft of snow. Twin-wall polycarbonate and tempered safety glass both resist hail without cracking.
Polycarbonate is the practical, high-yield option: about 85% light transmission, strong insulation, the widest range of sizes and the lowest entry price. Glass gives up to 95% light and a permanent architectural presence, for a garden room you live in as much as grow in. Wood combines the two: toughened safety glass on a solid Nordic spruce frame, for a warmer, more traditional structure.
Very little upkeep in every range. Galvanized steel and powder-coated aluminum wipe clean with soapy water and never rust. Polycarbonate panels rinse off easily and tempered glass washes like a window. The only recurring task is on the wood range: one coat of outdoor wood oil per year keeps the timber protected.
Shipping is free and fully insured to the 48 contiguous states, delivered curbside on a pallet by freight carrier. Estimated windows are 4 to 6 weeks for the polycarbonate range, 10 to 12 weeks for the Scandinavian wood range and 14 to 16 weeks for the glass range. Tracking is included and our team is available for any question about your delivery.
The polycarbonate range is modular: it can be extended at any time in 6.6 ft sections using the extension kit, up to about 98 ft of total length. The glass and wood models are fixed structures, so choose your size at the outset.
